Feeling Lost With Tech? This New Cornwall Course Starts Friday
The Edward Hain Centre has launched a new adult education course aimed at helping people build confidence with technology and improve their employment prospects.
New six week course launches this week
The course, called Get Ahead with Tech, begins on Friday 16th January and will run every Friday for six weeks. Sessions take place from 10am to 12.30pm at the Edward Hain Centre.
It is led by Chris Bevington, a Cornwall based technology professional with experience in digital training and helping people start a tech career in the region.
Focus on wellbeing and employment skills
EHC trustee Kit Grindstaff said the course fits closely with the Centre’s wider approach to health and wellbeing.
“Health and wellbeing has so many facets to it, not least of all the basic need of making a living. A sound grounding in technology can help broaden people’s horizons and give them a sense of competence they wouldn’t otherwise have had. We’re thrilled that our director, Sharron, has thought to add this to the list of health and wellbeing activities available at the Centre.”
Kit also confirmed that the Centre has received a generous donation of several laptops for the course, with others on loan. These will support both this programme and future adult education courses.
Spaces still available
There is still space available on the course. Anyone interested in signing up or requesting more information is asked to contact Chris directly on 07483 319945.
The Edward Hain Centre is partnering with Digital Futures Cornwall to deliver the course.
More information on the Centre’s health and wellbeing activities can be found on the Edward Hain Centre website.
