16/01/2026 – Weather in Cornwall
People across Cornwall are being advised to prepare for unsettled conditions over the next few days, with showers, fog and patchy frost all in the forecast.
Friday 16th January
Friday starts brighter for some, but showers are expected to continue for much of the day. These may turn heavy and blustery at times, especially near the coast, with isolated hail and thunder also possible. Temperatures are close to average for the time of year, with a maximum of 10°C.
Tonight
Cloud and clear spells are forecast overnight, bringing a chance of patchy frost where clear conditions last longest. Some showers are expected early in the evening, before it turns mostly dry. There is also a risk of mist and fog developing. Minimum temperatures are forecast to fall to around 2°C.
Saturday 17th January
Saturday may begin with a few showery outbreaks, but there is a good chance of brighter spells developing during the afternoon, particularly inland. Coastal areas are expected to remain breezy. Conditions will feel chilly, with temperatures reaching a maximum of 9°C.
Outlook: Sunday to Tuesday
From Sunday and into early next week, the weather is expected to turn mostly cloudy. Fog is likely at times and may be slow to clear. Patchy frost remains possible under clearer skies, with chilly conditions continuing both during the day and overnight.
