A mixed spell of weather is forecast across Cornwall from today, Saturday 17th January, through to Wednesday 21st January, with Cornwall expected to see some brighter moments compared to other areas.

Today: Saturday 17th January

Today is set to be changeable, with sunny spells and the chance of showers. Some showers could be heavy, but many places are expected to stay dry. Winds will be light and it should feel quite mild when the sun comes out. Maximum temperatures are forecast to reach around 10°C.

Tonight

Scattered showers are expected to clear away this evening, leaving drier conditions for a time. Cloud is forecast to thicken in eastern counties later, bringing mist, hill fog and some rain. In Cornwall, patchy frost and fog may develop overnight. Minimum temperatures are expected to fall to around 2°C.

Sunday

Sunday is forecast to be cloudy and damp for much of the region, with periods of rain that could be heavy in places. Cornwall is expected to fare better, with mainly dry conditions and some sunshine once early fog clears. Winds will remain light, with maximum temperatures around 9°C.

Outlook: Monday to Wednesday

The outlook for the start of next week remains changeable. Rain or showers are expected at times, with the possibility of heavier bursts. Drier and brighter spells are also likely. Temperatures are forecast to be around or slightly above average, with windy conditions at times.

Residents and visitors in Cornwall can expect a relatively settled end to the weekend compared with other parts of the South West, before more unsettled weather returns next week.
