22/01/2026 – Weather in Cornwall

A mixed and unsettled few days are ahead across the South West, with cloud, rain and strong winds featuring in the forecast from today through to early next week.

Today: Thursday 22nd January

It is another mainly cloudy and damp day, with showery outbreaks of rain. Some of this rain could be heavy and prolonged in places. Conditions are less windy than in recent days, and there is a chance of some brightness developing across Cornwall and Devon during the afternoon. It will feel mild, with temperatures reaching around 10°C.

Tonight

This evening is expected to turn mostly dry with clear spells inland, although a few coastal showers may linger. Overnight, further outbreaks of wet and windy weather will arrive from the west. It will remain mild, with temperatures dropping to around 5°C.

Friday

Rain will clear north eastwards during the morning, giving way to brighter but showery conditions. More persistent rain is forecast to return later in the day. It will be a windy day overall, with a risk of coastal gales. Temperatures will be close to average, with a maximum of around 9°C.

Outlook: Saturday to Monday

Saturday is expected to be windy with frequent heavy showers. Conditions remain often cloudy and breezy into Sunday and Monday, with further outbreaks of rain at times. It is expected to turn colder as next week begins.
