Street Meets Falmouth Campaign Launches This February
A new campaign celebrating the streets, businesses and creative character of Falmouth is set to launch in February with the introduction of Street Meets Falmouth.
Led by Falmouth BID, Street Meets will shine a monthly spotlight on the individual streets that make up the town centre. The campaign will begin with Killigrew Street, Berkeley Vale and The Moor.
The aim is to encourage people to slow down, explore and rediscover Falmouth one street at a time, meeting the people, places and stories that make each area unique.
Monthly spotlight on town centre streets
As part of the launch, a dedicated online Street Meets Falmouth mini magazine has been produced. Each month, the magazine will change to showcase the food, drink, retail, leisure and cultural businesses based on the featured streets, alongside their history and character.
The campaign will also run across social media, with regular features highlighting local businesses, street stories and snippets of Falmouth’s history. Residents and visitors are encouraged to keep an eye on Falmouth’s social channels as new streets and businesses are introduced.
Free winter parking dates confirmed
To help encourage town centre visits during the winter months, two hours of free parking will be available at Church Street Car Park on Saturday 7th February and Saturday 7th March.
Free parking will be available between 9am and 1pm, giving visitors extra time to explore the featured streets and support local businesses.
Visitors using the offer will need to enter Church Street Car Park before 11am, collect a free ticket from the pay and display machine, and display it in their vehicle. The free offer applies to the initial two-hour period only. Parking apps cannot be used for the free period but can be used to extend parking afterwards if required.
Celebrating what’s on the doorstep
Keren Cooksey, Falmouth BID Manager, said:
“Falmouth is a brilliant town, full of independent businesses, creativity and character and it’s packed with gems that even some local people don’t always realise are there.
Street Meets is about celebrating those streets and stories, encouraging locals to come into town, explore a bit more, and rediscover what’s on their doorstep. Whether it’s a café you’ve never tried, a shop you’ve walked past a hundred times, or a corner of town you haven’t visited in years, we want people to feel inspired to explore and enjoy their town.”
Street Meets Falmouth will roll out across digital channels, social media and print throughout the year, with further streets featured as the campaign unfolds.
