Entries Open for Cornwall’s Spring Flower Show 2026

Entries are now open for the competitive classes at the Cornwall Garden Society Spring Flower Show 2026, which returns to the Royal Cornwall Showground on Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th March.

The two day show will bring together horticultural inspiration, family friendly activities, expert talks, show gardens and a wide range of competitive exhibits celebrating the best of a Cornish spring.

Wide range of classes open to enter

Competitors can enter a broad selection of sections, including ornamental trees and shrubs, magnolias, camellias with both specimen blooms and sprays, rhododendrons and azaleas, daffodils, herbaceous plants, rhizomatous and other bulbous plants, pot plants, alpines, floral art and photography.

Floral art entries will be judged in accordance with the NAFAS Competition Fourth Edition 2023. Photography will be displayed as a non competitive exhibition, with cups awarded for the best images.

The Society says there are hundreds of opportunities for gardeners, growers, makers and creatives to take part in the popular schedule of competitive classes.

Sustainability Hub announced for 2026

New for 2026, the Eden Project will curate the Sustainability Hub as part of celebrations marking its 25th anniversary.

Rooted in a garden created by Eden Project apprentices, the hub will explore how people can garden more sustainably for the future. Topics will include soil health, energy use, recycling and low impact builds.

Encouraging new and first time exhibitors

Chairman Martin Petherick said the show once again promises to demonstrate the range of plant varieties produced during a Cornish spring.

Following disruption caused by Storm Goretti, he said the 2026 show stands as a testament to the resilience, skill and determination of growers across Cornwall.

Martin added that entries are open to everyone, with no requirement to be a member of the Society and no fee to exhibit in the competitive classes. He also highlighted the dedicated Novice Section, which is designed to make showing accessible and enjoyable for first time exhibitors.

Show Director Mark Holman said the team is preparing a warm and welcoming event, with competitive classes, talks, show gardens and exhibitions for all to enjoy, and looks forward to welcoming both exhibitors and visitors.

Key dates for exhibitors

The deadline for all horticultural entries is Monday 16th March 2026. Photography entries must be submitted by Saturday 14th March 2026.

Exhibitors are reminded that the use of flower foam is not permitted, in line with current guidance.
