Five Camborne Students Land Oxbridge Offers

Five sixth form students at Camborne Science & International Academy have secured offers from the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge, marking a standout moment for the Camborne school.

The academy, which is part of Athena Learning Trust, confirmed that all five students have received offers to study a range of highly competitive subjects at two of the world’s leading universities.

The students and their offers

The successful students and their chosen courses are:

• Faith Kemp, who has been offered a place to study Archaeology and Anthropology at University of Oxford

• Ellowen Marven, who has received an offer to study Psychology and Philosophy at Oxford

• Leon Rosinus Dove, who has secured a place to study Spanish with Beginners’ Russian at Oxford

• Hala Elabd, who has received an offer to read Medicine at University of Cambridge

• Hannah Costa, who has also been offered a place to study Medicine at Cambridge

Each student followed a different academic pathway during their time at the academy, with several taking part in the CSMS and CSLA programmes. These programmes provide advanced academic opportunities for some of Cornwall’s most able students in STEM and Liberal Arts subjects.

The offers recognise not only academic achievement, but also the wider skills and intellectual curiosity shown by the students during the highly competitive admissions process.

Strong outcomes beyond Oxbridge

Alongside the Oxbridge offers, the sixth form is also seeing strong results across other competitive degree courses, including veterinary science. The school says this reflects the breadth of ambition among its students and the support provided to help them aim for a wide range of future careers.
