Brace Yourself: Wind, Hail and Even Snow Set for the South West This Week
People across the South West can expect a mixed and at times unsettled week of weather, with strong winds, heavy showers and even the chance of snow on higher ground before conditions settle briefly.
Here is the forecast from Monday 16 February to Friday 20 February.
Today: Windy With Heavy Showers
Monday brings a changeable day, with cloudy periods, occasional sunny spells and showers moving through the region.
Some of these showers may be heavy and there is a chance of hail, although they may ease later in the day. It will be windy and relatively mild, with maximum temperatures reaching 10°C.
Tonight: Hail Risk and Frost Possible
Heavy showers will continue into the evening, with hail still possible. Overnight, these showers are expected to become mainly restricted to Devon and Cornwall.
Winds will slowly ease, allowing patchy frost and ice to form in eastern counties. Temperatures are forecast to fall to a minimum of 0°C.
