Elite Garages to Acquire 14 ATS Euromaster Branches

Two Cornwall branches are set to transfer to new ownership after ATS Euromaster announced proposals to wind down its UK operations, putting around 700 jobs at risk nationwide.

Family-run business Elite Garages has confirmed it will acquire 14 ATS Euromaster branches, including sites in Helston and Launceston. Around 60 jobs will be protected through a TUPE transfer, with both businesses working towards a transfer date of 18th April 2026.

Cornwall Sites Included

The two Cornwall locations due to transfer are:

• Helston – Clodgey Lane, Helston, TR13 8PJ

• Launceston – Pennygillam Industrial Estate, Launceston, PL15 7ED

These branches will join Elite Garages’ existing Texaco petrol stations in Scorrier and Fal.

A Major Step for Elite Garages

Elite Garages has been operating for more than 65 years, growing from a single garage in the 1960s into a wider motor industry business.

With the addition of the 14 new branches, the company’s portfolio will include:

• 38 vehicle repair centres

• 9 petrol stations with convenience stores and Post Offices

• A Morrisons Daily supermarket in Shaftesbury

• EG Wholesale, its tyre wholesale business with 9 warehouses

• A rental property business with 25 commercial and residential tenants

Growth Across the South of England

Dave Morrison, Retail Operations Manager, reflected on how the business has expanded over the years. Dave said:

“When I joined Elite nearly 30 years ago, the business operated just 4 branches with around 30 employees. With the new sites, we will have 38 retail branches and over 400 colleagues! It has been incredible to see how the company has evolved and grown. In recent years, we have successfully acquired 8 ATS Euromaster locations and these branches have already become an important part of the Elite Garages family. Across its retail network, Elite Garages provides MOT testing, vehicle servicing, diagnostics and repairs. The business also carries extensive tyre stock, from budget options to premium and high-performance ranges. Customers can reserve tyres online and access same-day fitting. Free vehicle safety checks are offered throughout the year.
