Pool Academy Hosts National Space Centre Workshops

Students at Pool Academy have been given a chance to look beyond the classroom and into the world of space science, thanks to two interactive workshops delivered by the National Space Centre.

The sessions saw Year 8 and 9 pupils take part in hands-on activities designed to bring space and physics to life, helping them understand how what they learn in school connects to real-world applications and STEM careers.

Learning Beyond the Classroom

The workshops gave students the opportunity to work directly with experts, applying their knowledge in practical situations and exploring key scientific ideas in a new way.

As part of the programme, pupils were able to see how science links to everyday life and future career paths. The experience supported Pool Academy’s science curriculum, helping students build their understanding of core concepts while encouraging curiosity about the wider world.

Linking Science and Careers

The sessions also complemented the school’s careers programme. Students were given insight into different industries, developed practical skills and were supported to make informed choices about their next steps.
