Will Rain Drench Cornwall This Week?

Parts of Cornwall and Devon are set for a wet start to the week, while other areas look likely to stay drier, according to the latest forecast for South West England covering Monday 2nd March to Friday 6th March.

Monday 2nd March

Outbreaks of rain are moving eastwards across Cornwall and into Devon through the morning. Further east, conditions are expected to be drier with some sunshine.

As the afternoon goes on, cloud and rain will spread across the rest of the region, although the rain is forecast to weaken as it moves through. Temperatures are expected to reach a maximum of 15°C.

Monday Night

Patchy rain will soon move away during the evening, followed by clear spells. It will turn chilly where skies remain clear, with a patchy frost possible in the countryside. Overnight temperatures could fall to around 2°C.

Tuesday 3rd March

Tuesday is expected to be dry for many areas, with sunny spells developing. However, cloud may at times be thick enough to bring the odd light shower. It will feel a little fresher, with maximum temperatures around 12°C.

Wednesday 4th March to Friday 6th March

Wednesday looks set to be a fine day with sunny spells.

Thursday is most likely to remain dry, although rain is possible by the evening.

Any rain is expected to clear, leaving another dry and sunny day on Friday.

The week ahead brings a mixed picture for Cornwall and the wider South West, with a wet start for some but brighter conditions returning as the week progresses.
