Cloudy skies and patchy rain are expected across South West England over the coming days, with unsettled conditions continuing into the middle of the week.

The forecast covering Saturday 7th March to Wednesday 11th March suggests many areas will see plenty of cloud, occasional rain and some brief sunny breaks.

Cloudy Start on Saturday

Saturday morning is expected to be largely cloudy, with some light rain in places, particularly in eastern parts of the region.

During the afternoon the cloud may begin to break, allowing some sunshine to come through. Temperatures are set to feel a little milder, with a maximum of around 11°C.

Rain and Drizzle Overnight

Cloud will persist overnight into Saturday night. Further outbreaks of patchy rain and drizzle are expected, with heavier bursts likely to develop later in the night and move northwards.

Temperatures are forecast to drop to a minimum of about 7°C.

Sunday Staying Mostly Cloudy

Sunday 8th March is expected to remain cloudy for most areas, with further outbreaks of light rain and drizzle.

These areas of rain are forecast to gradually move northwards through the day. Some sunny spells could develop later in the day across southern parts of the region.

Temperatures are expected to stay close to seasonal averages, with a maximum of around 13°C.

Early Week Outlook

Looking ahead to Monday 9th March through to Wednesday 11th March, conditions are expected to stay mostly cloudy for many areas.

The forecast suggests it will remain largely dry with the chance of occasional showers. Where sunny breaks appear it is likely to feel mild.

By Wednesday, the weather is expected to turn wetter and windier from the west, with periods of rain developing across the region.
