Free Easter Egg Hunt, Market and Family Fun Coming to Newquay

Families in Newquay are being invited to a day of free Easter fun as the town prepares to host an Easter Egg stravaganza on the Killacourt.

Organised by Newquay Town Council, the event will take place on Saturday 4th April from 10am to 4pm, with a full programme of activities designed for children and families.

Entry is completely free, with no admission or activity charges.

Easter Activities on the Killacourt

Young visitors will be able to take part in an Easter Egg Hunt, with each child receiving a chocolate egg or an alternative.

Throughout the day there will also be Easter themed storytelling sessions with Hotch Potch Performance at set times. Other activities planned include face painting, mini fairground rides and an Easter Trail with a prize at the end.

Families can also enjoy garden games, outdoor play and a children’s disco from the Bandstand, with organisers promising more surprises during the day.

BIG Newquay Market Also Taking Place

Alongside the Easter Egg stravaganza, the BIG Newquay Market will be held on the Killacourt between 10am and 4pm.

Hosted by Cornwall Shop Small in collaboration with Newquay BID, the market will feature stalls from local artisans and makers, giving visitors the chance to browse a range of products while enjoying the celebrations.

Two Free Easter Trails Around Town

The activities continue beyond the main event, with two free Easter town trails running from Tuesday 7th April until Saturday 18th April.

The Easter Trail invites families to explore Newquay using a trail sheet collected from Newquay Library and Information Service. Children will follow clues to shop windows around the town, each displaying a hidden Easter egg poster with a letter to collect. Completed sheets can then be returned to the library for a small Easter treat.

Running alongside it is the Golden Rocks Hunt, where 50 golden rocks will be hidden around Newquay for children to find. Any golden rock can be taken to Newquay Library and Information Service, where children aged 12 and under can exchange it for an Easter treat donated by Sainsbury’s Newquay, with alternatives available.

The Library and Information Service is closed on Sundays.

Mayor of Newquay, Councillor Drew Creek, said:

“I am thrilled to announce the exciting range of activities that Newquay Town Council will be offering this Easter. Like in previous years, we want to ensure that our younger residents and their families have lots to do in our town during the Easter break.
