Families looking for something a little different this Mother’s Day weekend may want to head to Paradise Park Wildlife Sanctuary in Hayle, where visitors are being invited to plant snowdrops, explore the park, and enjoy a day surrounded by wildlife.

The park is offering a £5 discount per person for visits on Saturday 14th March and Mothering Sunday, 15th March 2026, available both online and at reception using the code SNOWDROP.

The offer is part of a Mother’s Day weekend filled with activities designed for families, including wildlife talks, planting sessions, and indoor and outdoor play.

Help Plant Snowdrops on the Woodland Walk

Planting sessions will run from 11:30am to 12:30pm on Saturday 14th March and Sunday 15th March, giving visitors the chance to help rebuild one of the park’s seasonal displays.

Participants will head to the Woodland Walk, where trowels and ‘in-the-green’ snowdrop plants will be provided so guests can plant them in their new home.

The planting effort comes after Storm Goretti, which affected the park’s snowdrop displays.

Over the years, visitors have helped plant 10,000 snowdrops at Paradise Park, and the team hopes to add a few hundred more to help create an even bigger display for next February.

Wildlife Feeding Times to Watch

There will also be opportunities throughout the day to see some of the park’s animals up close.

Scheduled times include:

  • Otter family feeding: 10:30am and 3pm

  • Penguin keeper talk and feeding: 11am and 2:30pm

Indoor and Outdoor Fun for Children

Families visiting with children can make use of both indoor and outdoor play areas.

The JungleBarn Indoor Play Centre includes slides, ladders, swings, tunnels and a toddler zone.

Outside, Paradise Island features climbing towers, slides and a rocking dolphin ride.

Ride the Jungle Express Train

On sunny days, visitors can also hop aboard Zebedee the Jungle Express Train, which runs two loops around the house.

The train passes the top of Parrot Jungle and travels through a tunnel filled with twinkling lights. A small additional charge applies, and visitors are advised to check train times on arrival.

Food, Treats and Free Parking

Visitors can round off their trip with refreshments from the Otter Pool Café, including Cornish cream teas, cake and other treats.

Free parking is available on site.
