Food and Drink Producers Invited to Enter Great British Food Awards
Could Cornwall’s Next Award-Winning Food Be Yours?
Food and drink producers across Cornwall are being invited to put their creations forward for this year’s Great British Food Awards.
Recognised as some of the nation’s most prestigious accolades, the Awards celebrate regional traditions and ingredients alongside the farmers, makers, innovators and diverse cultures behind Britain’s food and drink scene.
Winning a Gold, Silver, Bronze or Grand Champion badge is seen as a mark of exceptional quality. Previous Cornish winners include The Cornish Fishmonger, Cornish Sea Salt Company, Our Chef Catering Group, Proper Cornish and Home Farm.

Celebrity judges tasting the nation’s best
Entries are judged by an expert panel featuring well known names from the food world, including Raymond Blanc, Adam Handling, Jack Stein and Merlin Griffiths.
Producers have the chance to have their products tasted by the judges, with feedback from some of Britain’s most experienced palates.
In 2025, head fish and seafood judge Jack Stein described The Cornish Fishmonger’s Salmon & Wild Prawn En Croute as “showstopping”, awarding top marks for its “lovely flavour, great pastry and pastry work”.
Emily Roux said she “loved” the crisp pastry and peppery taste of Proper Cornish’s Traditional Layered Steak Cornish Pasty.
Jeremy Pang praised the Cornish Sea Salt Company’s Rosemary Sea Salt, calling it “impressive” and adding that, “the rosemary is fine enough a powder that it wraps really well around each crystal of salt. It’s taken all the herby flavour in before even cooking”.
Entries now open
Entries for the 2026 Awards opened on Monday 9th March 2026 and close on Friday 22nd May 2026. Shortlisting and judging will take place during July and August.
Food and drink businesses from across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland can enter, as long as their products are made within the UK.
There are more than 60 categories available, including Sweet Treats, Charcuterie, Seasonings, Cocktails and Kitchen Condiments.
Gold, Silver and Bronze winners will be announced on 30th October 2026. Gold and Silver winners will also be featured in Great British Food Magazine and across social media.
Regional winners and the Grand Champion will be revealed at a special ceremony in November.
A platform for producers
Jenny O’Neill, head of the Awards team, said the event continues to highlight the talent found across the UK’s food and drink sector.
Jenny said: “Each year, the Great British Food Awards celebrate the remarkable talent, craftsmanship and innovation found across the UK’s food and drink sector. We’re proud to provide producers of all sizes with a platform to showcase their products to our expert judging panel. We can’t wait to discover this year’s standout products.”
The Great British Food Awards were launched in 2014 to showcase the best of the British food and drink scene, from flavoured gins and artisan breads to cheeses, chocolates and wines.
Food and drink producers interested in entering can find more information and submit their products via the Great British Food Awards website.
