Two Kayakers Assisted by Newquay Coastguard After Difficulty at Gannel
Newquay Coastguard Rescue Team were called out on the evening of Saturday 4th April following concerns for two kayakers in the Gannel.

Emergency call at 18:55
The team was tasked at 18:55hrs after reports raised concerns about the pair while they were out on the water.
Both kayakers were later located beaching on the south side of the Gannel after experiencing difficulty in the conditions.
Safely off the water
After reaching shore, the kayakers made their way up onto the coast path.
Team members checked both individuals to ensure no medical attention was required before assisting them onwards towards their accommodation.
Public thanked for support
Newquay Coastguard Rescue Team thanked members of the public for their assistance during the incident.
They also issued a reminder that if anyone sees someone in difficulty along the coast, they should dial 999 and ask for the coastguard.
The team added a simple message following the callout, urging people to stay safe.
