Warm Sunshine Now… But a Change Is Coming Later This Week

A spell of fine, dry and warm weather is set to bring a welcome lift across the South West, including Cornwall, before more unsettled conditions arrive later in the week.

Bright and Warm Start to the Week

Tuesday 7th April begins on a chilly note, but that quickly gives way to a fine and dry day with plenty of sunshine. At times the sunshine may appear slightly hazy, but conditions remain bright overall.

Temperatures are expected to reach a warm 22°C for many areas, although it will feel a little fresher along the south coast.

Clear Skies Overnight

Into the evening, conditions stay settled with some late sunshine. Overnight remains dry with clear spells continuing.

While it will turn a little chilly in rural areas, temperatures are not expected to drop as low as in recent nights, with a minimum of around 3°C.

Even Warmer on Wednesday

Wednesday 8th April continues the settled theme, bringing another fine and dry day with spells of sunshine across the region.

There is a chance of increasing cloud at times, particularly across Cornwall during the afternoon, but it will still feel warm with light winds. Temperatures could climb slightly higher, reaching around 24°C.

Change on the Way

Looking ahead, the settled conditions are not expected to last.

From Thursday 9th April through to Saturday 11th April, the weather is set to turn cooler and more changeable. Thursday will bring spells of rain and showers, with further unsettled conditions likely to continue into Friday and Saturday.

Temperatures during this period are expected to return closer to average for the time of year.
