Three Arrests Made During Police Activity in Truro Areas

Police have made three arrests following a series of actions across Truro as part of ongoing efforts to tackle crime and anti-social behaviour in the area.

Officers from the neighbourhood support team have been active in Truro city centre, as well as the Moresk and Tregolls areas, responding to concerns raised by the community.

Arrests Made in City Centre and Beyond

One of the arrests involved Kirsty Heather, who was detained for breaching her Criminal Behaviour Order, assaulting a constable and assaulting a street ranger in Truro city centre. Kirsty was remanded for court, found guilty on all counts and is now awaiting sentencing.

Police highlighted that Criminal Behaviour Orders are used to tackle persistent anti-social behaviour and rely on strong community links and partnership working.

In a separate incident, officers arrested one adult male and one adult female on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of class A drugs. Police said this activity had been flagged by members of the public and was causing real issues within the community.

They added that disrupting this type of crime is time consuming but remains a priority due to its impact on public safety and community wellbeing. Residents are being encouraged to continue reporting drug dealing, with police stating it helps protect young people and prevent the exploitation and cuckooing of vulnerable individuals.

Support for Emergency Services

During the same period, officers also supported ambulance colleagues in assisting a female experiencing mental health issues. They ensured she was safely transported to hospital and carried out the appropriate referrals.

Increased Patrols and Ongoing Concerns

Police have also been carrying out high visibility foot patrols, supported by plain clothes officers, engaging with the public and local retailers. Concerns around shoplifting and anti-social behaviour were discussed, with officers confirming these issues have been taken seriously and fed back locally.

They noted that shoplifting is increasing and said they are currently dealing with multiple prolific offenders across Cornwall.

Further planned deployments by the team are expected as efforts continue.
