An emotional moment marked the end of an era at Callington Community Fire Station, as Crew Manager Richard Trevithick attended his final drill night after 30 years of service.

A Long-Standing Commitment

On the evening of Saturday 11th April, colleagues, family and friends gathered at the station to recognise Richard Trevithick’s remarkable contribution to both the Callington community and Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service.

Richard has spent three decades serving the area, building a strong connection with the community during that time.

A Special Send-Off

The fire station described the occasion as a “truly special” one, with loved ones joining firefighters to celebrate the milestone.

In a message shared by the station, they said:

“End of an era at Callington Fire Station! 🚒
Yesterday evening, we marked a truly special occasion as Crew Manager Richard Trevithick attended his final drill night. After an incredible 30 years of dedicated service to the Callington community and Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service, Richard is hanging up his helmet.
It was wonderful to have family and friends join us at the station to celebrate such a massive achievement.
