Thunder Risk and Heavy Rain Ahead This Week in South West
A mixed week of weather is expected across the South West of England, starting with sunshine and showers before turning wetter and windier midweek.

Monday 13th April
The week begins with a chilly start, with isolated fog patches in places. Sunny spells are expected to develop through the morning, but showers near the coast will gradually spread further inland as the day goes on.
Some of these showers could become heavy and possibly thundery during the afternoon. Winds will be lighter than in recent days, with temperatures reaching a maximum of 13°C.
Monday Night
Showers will ease during the evening, leaving a dry start to the night with some clear spells. However, conditions will change in the early hours as cloud moves in from the west, bringing patchy rain. Temperatures are expected to drop to around 4°C.
Tuesday 14th April
Tuesday will start with some early brightness in the far east, but for most areas it will be a cloudy day. Occasional rain and drizzle are expected, turning heavier at times later in the day.
Fog patches may form, and winds are set to strengthen. Temperatures will be slightly higher, with a maximum of 15°C.

Outlook for Wednesday 15th to Friday 17th April
Looking ahead, Wednesday is expected to be wet and windy for a time. Conditions will then improve slightly on Thursday, with scattered showers.
By Friday, the weather is forecast to turn drier and brighter. It will also feel warmer than in recent days, particularly where sunshine develops.
