National Trust Brings Spring Blossom Events to Cornwall

Spring is set to burst into colour across Cornwall as the National Trust brings its Big Blooming Break to the region from 20th April to 3rd May.

The two-week celebration invites people to pause and enjoy blossom as landscapes fill with soft pinks and creamy whites, with a range of events taking place at locations across Cornwall.

What’s Happening in Cornwall

At Cotehele, visitors can book onto an orchard tour and picnic with the Head Gardener on Friday 24th April. Over the weekend of Saturday 25th to Sunday 26th April, there will be blossom-themed activities and crafts.

A special exhibition by artist Sammy Davies will run from Saturday 2nd May to Sunday 10th May. There are also Blossom Yoga sessions planned in the old orchard on Thursday 7th May and Sunday 10th May. Some activities require booking in advance.

Lanhydrock is offering a self-led blossom bathing walk through its formal gardens from 14th April to 22nd May. Visitors can take time to enjoy the colours, scents and calm of the season at their own pace. Normal admission applies, with free entry for National Trust members. New Blossom Walks to Explore

The National Trust is also working with the Go Jauntly app to introduce 14 new blossom-themed trails and challenges as part of ‘Naturehood’. These free guided walks are designed to help people discover green spaces and wildlife while encouraging more time outdoors.

In Cornwall, walks in the Tamar Valley and Plymouth area are being delivered in partnership with Food Plymouth and the Devon and Cornwall Rail Partnership. These guided walks start at Keyham and Bere Ferres train stations.

There is also a self-guided walking route available online via the National Trust website.

A Chance to Enjoy Spring

With blossom events, walks and seasonal activities taking place across Cornwall, the Big Blooming Break offers plenty of ways to get outside and enjoy spring.

From peaceful garden strolls to organised activities, it’s a chance to explore some of Cornwall’s best-loved places while they are at their most colourful.
