This Anna Phoebe Minack Show Might Be One to Remember

Composer, producer and BBC Radio 4 presenter Anna Phoebe is bringing her violin-led soundscapes to the Minack Theatre in Porthcurno on 1st May 2026, in what promises to be one of the more extraordinary evenings the cliff-top venue has hosted this year.

The performance begins at 7pm and is billed as a one-off, specially curated show timed to coincide with the full moon. Anna will draw on music from her albums Sea Souls and Divergence, as well as new compositions written specifically for this event. The Minack, carved into the cliffs above the sea, provides a setting that feels almost purpose-built for music described as “an invocation to the spirits of sea and sky.”

A New Release to Mark the Occasion

The Minack date also coincides with the release of Midnight Sessions, a new ambient series in which Anna has reworked existing tracks for late-night listening. It arrives on Bandcamp on 1st May, with a full digital release across all platforms on Sunday 31st May, timed to the following full moon.

The five-track release features: Between Worlds, Unravel, Divergence, Submerged and Dawn.

Anna has described the thinking behind the project: “With the Midnight Sessions, I wanted to slow the tracks down, strip away melodies and focus on the textural elements – where each note can settle in its own space and the listener can drift alongside the music as everything from the outside world falls away.”

Who Is Anna Phoebe?

For those unfamiliar, Anna works at the intersection of classical, electronic and experimental music. Her screen credits include co-scoring Apple TV+’s The Buccaneers alongside Aisling Brouwer, as well as solo credits on Channel 4’s Surviving Dad and ITV’s Wear the Rose. She won Best Composer at the BAFTA-affiliated Underwire Film Festival and co-hosts BBC Radio 4’s Add to Playlist with Jeffrey Boakye, which reaches around a million listeners each week.

She has performed at the Pyramids of Giza, the Royal Albert Hall and Glastonbury, and recently appeared alongside Anna Calvi, Jarvis Cocker, Rufus Wainwright, Beth Orton and Ed Harcourt for a celebration of Broken English, a film about Marianne Faithfull.

Since 2023, she has collaborated with DJ Mary Anne Hobbs, with their latest project WHAT DO YOU WANT? premiering at Manchester International Festival. Described as a multi-sensory, freeform work combining DJing, violin, electronics, voice and visuals, it was shaped in part by letters from the public.

In 2026, Anna is also developing her third solo album, exploring her Greek and Levantine heritage.

The Minack show sits within a short UK run. Those who miss the Cornwall date have limited alternatives nearby:
