What does it take to keep a Newquay Harbour event growing year after year and pushing past £185,000 raised for charity? Local backing, and one familiar name has just stepped up again.

The organisers of the Joe Way Paddle for Life have confirmed that Nick Quince and the team at Colourworx Newquay are returning as a £500 business sponsor for this year’s event.

Continued local backing

Colourworx have supported the Paddle for Life previously, and their renewed commitment adds to the network of Newquay businesses behind the harbour fundraiser. The full £500 goes straight into the charity fundraising pot, helping grow the total raised through the event for children’s charities and causes focused on youth wellbeing and mental health.

Nick said: “The Paddle for Life is a fantastic event for Newquay and something we’ve been proud to support before. It brings the whole community together for a really important cause and we’re pleased to be backing it again this year.”

Event organiser Matt Way added: “It’s brilliant to have Nick and the Colourworx team supporting the Paddle again. Local business support makes a huge difference and helps us continue to grow the event and the funds raised each year.”

More sponsors wanted

With momentum building ahead of the 18th June event, organisers are calling on more local businesses to come on board at the £500 level. Sponsorship at this tier goes directly into the charity pot, includes recognition across event promotion and on the day, and signals support for a trusted, long-running community event.

Organisers are also on the hunt for high-value prizes for the online charity draw that runs alongside the Paddle. Experience days, accommodation stays, equipment and vouchers are all welcome, along with any other premium items businesses might be able to offer.

About the Paddle

The Joe Way Paddle for Life has become a fixture in the Newquay calendar, drawing paddlers, families, volunteers and local businesses to the harbour each year. Since it began, the event has raised over £185,000 for charities across Cornwall and beyond.

This year’s Paddle takes place on Thursday 18th June at Newquay Harbour from 3pm.
