Sunshine Now, Storms Later: Cornwall’s Five-Day Forecast Twist

Cornwall is waking up to blue skies and warmth, but a change is brewing for the weekend.

The Met Office has issued its latest South West England forecast covering today through to Sunday 3rd May, and it’s a mixed bag for anyone planning outdoor time over the coming days.

Wednesday and Thursday

After any early mist and fog patches clear this morning, the rest of Wednesday 29th April will bring blue skies across the region. Winds will strengthen through the south, although sheltered spots are expected to feel warm. The maximum temperature today is forecast at 21°C.

Tonight stays dry with largely clear skies, broken only by a veil of high cloud at times. A patchy rural frost is possible in the coldest spots, with temperatures dropping to a minimum of 6°C.

Thursday 30th April brings hazy sunshine and blustery winds. It will feel chilly out in the wind, but warmer wherever you can find shelter. There’s a small chance of showers in Cornwall at times. Highs of 23°C are expected.

The Weekend Shift

Friday 1st May looks warm and a little more humid, with lighter winds making it the pick of the week for many.

But it doesn’t last. The forecast turns increasingly cloudy through the weekend, with a growing risk of heavy showers. Some of those could turn thundery.

So if you’ve got plans for Saturday or Sunday, keep an eye on the skies.
