Cornwall Set for a Wet Weekend After Today’s Sunshine
Enjoy the warmth while it lasts. The Met Office is forecasting a dramatic shift in the weather across South West England, with showers and longer spells of rain set to sweep in just as the weekend gets going.
Friday brings the best of the weather
Today starts under a band of cloud with a few showers spreading eastwards through the morning. Things brighten up considerably behind that, with some good spells of sunshine expected by the afternoon.
It will feel warm too, with lighter winds than Cornwall has seen of late. Temperatures could climb as high as 21°C.
Overnight stays largely dry with clear spells, though a few mist patches may develop. Showery outbreaks of rain are likely to arrive in the west later in the night. The minimum temperature is expected to drop to around 6°C.
Saturday’s split start
Saturday morning will see a bright start in the east, but it will be rather cloudy further west with showery outbreaks of rain already moving in.
Those showers become more widespread into the afternoon and turn persistent later in the day. Maximum temperatures will reach 17°C, noticeably cooler than Friday.

Sunday onwards looks unsettled
The outlook for Sunday into Monday is for showers or longer spells of rain, and these could turn thundery at times.
A few showers are still possible on Tuesday 5th May, with temperatures generally returning closer to average for the time of year.
