Holidaymakers have spoken, and the verdict puts a Cornish company at the heart of the UK’s best-rated holiday cottage brands.

Two letting agencies owned by Hayle-headquartered Sapphire Holidays have been ranked among the top five holiday cottage companies in the UK by consumer champion Which?

Sixth year running for Classic Cottages

Classic Cottages took fourth place nationally and held on to its Which? Recommended Provider status for the sixth year in a row. The status is reserved for the highest performing brands in the survey.

Aspects Holidays, which specialises in self-catering breaks in Cornwall, broke into the top five for the first time, finishing fifth.

The annual Which? rankings are based on responses from thousands of holidaymakers who rated UK holiday cottage companies on customer service, communication, cleanliness, accuracy of property descriptions and value for money.

A growing Cornish business

Sapphire Holidays is family-owned and manages around 2,850 holiday properties across the UK, generating more than £60 million in bookings each year. The business is headquartered in Hayle, employs roughly 260 people, and owns Classic Cottages, Aspects Holidays, Boutique Retreats, Unique Hideaways and Island Escapes.

Simon Tregoning, owner and chairman of Sapphire Holidays, said the company was “incredibly proud to see both Classic Cottages and Aspects Holidays recognised among the very best holiday cottage companies in the UK.”

He added that the Classic Cottages result reflected “the dedication of our team to delivering exceptional holidays and outstanding service,” and described the Aspects Holidays result as “equally exciting.”

Simon also said the rankings carried particular weight because they came from real customers. “These rankings are particularly meaningful because they are based on genuine customer feedback, making them a strong endorsement of the experiences we provide for both guests and property owners,” he said.

Background on the brands

Classic Cottages was established in 1977 and markets around 1,500 properties across the UK. Aspects Holidays has built its reputation on a collection of more than 800 coastal cottages and apartments in Cornwall.

The Which? results follow another win for the group earlier this year, with Boutique Retreats named Best Cottage Operator at the 2025 Telegraph Travel Awards.
