Award-winning vocalist and holistic voice coach Heather Maîr Thomas will host a one-day Sing Therapy™ workshop in Mousehole
The workshop takes place on Saturday June 6th 2026 and is open to all levels, including complete beginners, nervous singers, choir members and experienced performers.
Originally from a musical Newlyn family, Heather grew up surrounded by generations of singing and performance traditions in West Cornwall. Many local people will remember her grandfather, bandleader, conductor and organist, Norris Williams,

Heather has spent more than 30 years teaching and performing professionally across opera, jazz, folk, television and community music settings. Her career has included conservatoire training in London, television and media work, an acting appearance in Doctor Who, and vocal coaching clients including David Tennant, Matt Willis and Andy Bell from Erasure.

Heather has developed Sing Therapy™, a gentle, practical approach blending vocal technique, relaxation and mindset work for adults who may feel anxious, self-conscious or unsure about singing. Alongside her music background, she is also trained in life coaching and hypnotherapy.

Heather says: “So many adults carry the belief that they can’t sing, often because of one careless comment or experience years ago. I’m interested in helping people enjoy their voice in a way that feels safe and fun, without pressure or judgement.”
The informal workshop will include:

observing our vocal stories
relaxation and breath-work
vocal technique and ongoing practice

Everything is designed to be accessible, friendly and supportive, with no expectation for participants to sing alone.

Singing is good for you! Everyone deserves to experience the benefits – whatever stage you are at with your voice.

“Join me for a friendly, relaxed day of singing, breath work and vocal wellbeing in the heart of Mousehole, the Cornish fishing village close to where I grew up.

Who is it for?
This gentle Sing Therapy™ retreat is open to adults of all stages: nervous beginners, “I can’t sing” people, confident voices and the quietly curious alike.

You do not need musical experience and nobody will be put on the spot.
What will we do?

Through relaxation, calming breath work, easy vocal exercises and playful group singing, we’ll explore the voice in a way that feels supportive, freeing, and enjoyable.

Expect laughter, connection and a refreshing break from the pressures of everyday life.
Whether you long to sing more freely, reconnect with your confidence, or simply spend a nourishing day by the sea, you’ll be very welcome

The workshop runs from 10am–4pm and includes refreshment and a light lunch (provided..)”
