Cornwall Set for a Heatwave That Beats the Calendar
Forget what the calendar says. Cornwall is about to feel more like high summer than late May, with temperatures climbing well past what’s normal for this time of year and barely a cloud in sight for days.
According to the latest South West England forecast, the run of warm weather starts now and holds firm right through to the middle of next week.
A warm and sunny weekend
Saturday 23rd May begins with some morning mist and low cloud, but that clears quickly to leave a warm day with light winds and plenty of sunshine. The sunshine may turn hazy at times, particularly through the afternoon. Anyone heading to the coast will find it a little cooler there. The maximum temperature is expected to reach 24°C.
Saturday evening stays fine before a clear night sets in for most. As the night goes on, some low cloud and fog may form along the coasts and over a few hills. The minimum temperature drops to 5°C.
Sunday turns up the heat
Any fog on Sunday morning clears away quickly to leave another sunny day with light winds. This is when it really starts to feel warm, with temperatures rising well above the seasonal average. The coast stays slightly cooler, as ever. The maximum temperature is forecast to hit 26°C.

Settled into the new week
The fine spell does not stop there. From Monday 25th May through to Wednesday 27th May, high pressure keeps things dry and settled, with plenty of warm sunshine and light winds. Some overnight fog patches are possible, mainly across the countryside.
So if you have been waiting for an excuse to get outside, the next few days look like the time to take it.
