New images released as search for missing Holly Collinson continues

A guitar with a hole in it. Bags worn as socks. A hospital gown swapped for something nobody has identified yet. The trail Holly Collinson left across Cornwall is made up of small, strange details, and detectives are now hoping one of them jogs a memory.

Officers searching for the missing 29 year old have released a fresh set of images in the hope that the public can help piece together her movements.

Holly was reported missing by her family in Leicestershire on Friday 10th April. Before that, she had travelled to Cornwall, and specifically to the Newquay area.

 

What Holly looks like

Holly is described as a white woman, of slim build, 5ft 7ins tall and with blue eyes.

Previously she had long black, pink, red and plum coloured dreadlocks. On one of the last sightings, she was wearing a black coat, black trousers and a short sleeved black Adidas shirt. Her hair was straight and dark, with the upper half plum to red in colour and the lower half darker and below shoulder length.

She may now be using a crutch to help her get around.

The last confirmed sighting

Holly was last seen leaving Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro on 31st March at 10.10am.

At that point she was wearing a hospital gown, a green jumper and trainers, with black and yellow bags underneath being used as socks. She was carrying a white plastic bag and a black guitar. Detectives anticipate she may have changed her clothing after leaving the hospital.

After leaving, officers believe Holly boarded a bus, carrying her guitar and crutch, wearing the bags under her shoes and carrying a clear bag of belongings. She is known to travel using Cornwall’s bus network.

The bags on her feet

Images of the bags Holly is believed to have had on her feet have been released. The white bag with a black logo, which states ‘patient property’, was being carried. The yellow and black bags were believed to be used as socks.

A sighting in Truro

The day before Holly attended Royal Cornwall Hospital, she was seen on low quality CCTV on Tregolls Road in Truro.

In that footage she is wearing large shaped sunglasses, blue jeans and a large black cap, and is carrying a black guitar and a light coloured canvas type handbag.

The guitar

Holly was believed to be carrying a black Takamine electric acoustic guitar. Its identifiable feature is a missing battery pack, which leaves a four inch hole at the topside of the instrument. The guitar was not in a case.

Phones and belongings

Officers understand Holly had been using a Samsung A52 and an iPhone, though the colour and model of the iPhone are not known.

Holly also left a number of belongings at a caravan site in the Newquay area. Those belongings have since been removed, and detectives are seeking information about where they are now.

What the investigation has found so far

Detective Sergeant David Squire said: “Since our first appeal we have received a number of calls from the public with information and possible sightings of Holly, but these have so far not led us to locate her.

“We are working tirelessly to try and find Holly, and although these new images may seem like small clues, we are hoping they may prove significant in some way.

“On behalf of the investigation team I would like to thank everyone who has contacted us, or shared our appeals.

“We are continuing to ask the public to report anything they may have noticed that didn’t seemed right at the time, or has stuck in their minds since.

“We know Holly was in the Truro area on Monday 30th March and Tuesday 31st March but it is possible she may have travelled further afield since.”

David also addressed speculation that had been circulating locally. He confirmed that an e-fit issued in relation to a body found in Camborne earlier this month is not Holly, despite a number of members of the public getting in touch to suggest it might be. He thanked those who had contacted the team.
