Persimmon Hands Over 12 Affordable Homes to Coastline in Falmouth

Affordability in Falmouth has long been a sore point, with house prices pushing local people out of the town they grew up in. So the handover of a dozen new homes to a Cornish housing association might offer a little hope to families stuck on the waiting list.

Persimmon Homes Cornwall & West Devon handed over 12 properties at its Eve Parc site to Coastline Housing back in April, with the transfer marked on-site alongside Cornwall Council’s Portfolio Holder for Planning, Cllr Sarah Preece. A further two units are due to be transferred in June.

All 12 homes will be offered for shared ownership, providing Affordable Housing aimed at helping local households put down roots and access secure, good-quality homes in an area where affordability can be a real challenge.

Where the homes sit

The properties are on the fourth phase of the Eve Parc development. When planning consent was granted, it also triggered financial contributions worth over £200,000. That money is earmarked for healthcare, education, transport, public open space, and public rights of way in the area, as well as the Fal and Helford special area of conservation.

The five-star accredited housebuilder still has three and four-bed homes for sale at Eve Parc, available from £319,995. Once finished, the site will have delivered over 300 new homes as part of efforts to tackle Cornwall’s housing crisis.

Coastline Housing is an independent Cornish charitable housing association that owns and manages over 5,500 homes. The landlord has committed, working with its partners, to building around 300 new affordable homes each year up to 2030 to help families and individuals struggling with housing.
