Family Circus Show FailFailFailFailWin! Comes to Penryn’s Chyan Dome

Sixteen pounds. Plus shipping. That is the total value at stake when a circus duo attempts to spin eight real VERDAGEN IKEA plates at Chyan Dome this week, and somehow that small sum sits at the centre of one of the most charming family shows coming to Penryn this season.

Rural Theatre at Chyan Dome is welcoming audiences to FailFailFailFailWin!, a family theatre experience built around the idea of trying, failing, and trying again. The show runs on the 28th of May 2026 from 3pm to 4.30pm at Chyan Dome, Penryn, TR10 9BT.

What the show is about

Created and performed by circus duo Mark and Loz, the show looks at the messy reality behind learning something new. The premise is simple enough: circus, it turns out, is REALLY hard.

The performance invites audiences into Loz’s brain during a BIG FAIL, mixing physical comedy, storytelling and circus skills along the way. There is diabolo, juggling and hula hoop, plus that one high-stakes plate-spinning challenge involving the £2 IKEA plates.

A cast of odd characters

Audiences will meet an eccentric line-up that includes Rasputin, described as the unkillable naughty nudger and negging enthusiast, and Sven Svenstoferson, billed as Sweden’s greatest astronaut.

At its heart the show is about resilience, creativity and embracing all the attempts that do not quite work out the first time round. The message for children and adults alike is that failure is part of the adventure.

Workshop and age guidance

Alongside the performance, audiences can take part in an interactive workshop exploring circus skills and playful experimentation.

The show is aimed at families and is especially suited to children aged 3 to 10 years old. The official age guidance notes it is great for 3 to 10 year olds, and unsuitable for specifically 15 year olds that don’t want to come.
