Applications Open for £50,000 Persimmon Charitable Foundation Donations

Three UK charities working with young people are about to share £150,000, and the clock is already ticking on applications.

The Persimmon Charitable Foundation opened its second funding round of the year today, with three donations of £50,000 each up for grabs. Registered charities helping 14 to 25 year olds into work have just under three weeks to put their case forward.

What the Foundation is looking for

The money is aimed at UK-based projects focused on employability, children and young people aged 14 to 25, and areas of economic and social deprivation. Social mobility and youth development sit at the heart of what the Foundation backs, including learning and training schemes.

Since 2021, the Foundation has donated over £3 million to good causes.

Anthony Vigor, Chair of the Foundation, said: “We want to improve outcomes for young people, and particularly those not in education, training or employment. If your charity is focused on supporting employability, we encourage you to apply.”

Who has already won this year

In May, three charities walked away with £50,000 each from the first round of funding. Hamara Healthy Living Centre in Leeds, Newcastle United Foundation and The Benjamin Foundation in Norfolk all came out on top after putting in applications.

Earlier winners of Foundation money include Bristol City FC Robins Foundation and Young Somerset.

How the funding works

The Foundation was set up in 2015 to support communities where Persimmon Homes operates. The open application programme launched in 2025 to widen access for charities. Across the year there are two rounds of funding, with £300,000 split between six £50,000 donations in total.

That leaves three donations still to be handed out in this second round.

The deadline

Applications close at 11.59pm on Sunday, 21st June. Successful charities will find out in September.
