Thunder and Hail Risk for Cornwall as Unsettled Week Sets In

If you were hoping to pack the waterproofs away for June, hold off. The Met Office is forecasting heavy showers, possible thunder, and even hail across the South West over the coming days.

Tuesday and into the night

Scattered showers are expected throughout today, broken up by occasional bright spells. Those showers will be heavy at times, with a risk of thunder and hail thrown in. When the sun does break through it should feel pleasant enough, helped along by a gentle breeze. The maximum temperature today is 19°C.

Tonight the showers will gradually fade and leave clear spells behind, although the odd shower is still possible. Cloud thickens in the early hours and rain arrives in the west before morning. Overnight lows of 10°C.

Wednesday

Wednesday morning starts wet, with a spell of persistent rain spreading across the region. The afternoon brightens up with sunny spells and scattered showers, and the temperature climbs to a maximum of 20°C.

Thursday to Saturday

Thursday turns windy with blustery showers and another risk of thunder. Friday looks a touch better, with showers becoming less frequent. By Saturday rain may spread in once again. Overall it will feel fresher than it has of late.
