Saltash Police Foil Wanted Man’s McDonald’s Plans

A wanted man’s plans for a McDonald’s were cut short this week after Saltash patrol officers caught up with him, with help from members of the public who tipped them off to his whereabouts.

It was one of two arrests of wanted suspects in the area in recent days.

Sunday morning arrest

In the early hours of Sunday morning, a wanted female tried to make off from B section officers. According to Saltash Police, she was quickly apprehended and arrested.

The same officers came back later that evening to interview her, and she was remanded in custody.

On Tuesday 2nd June, Shay Iles was further remanded into custody until July, facing four breaches of a Criminal Behaviour Order and shoplifting.

Boxed in before the burger run

D section patrol officers later caught up with wanted male Liam Smith, who, according to the force, was looking forward to a McDonald’s at the time.

Officers took the opportunity to box his vehicle in and make the arrest.

Saltash Police thanked members of the public who had alerted them to Liam’s location.
