South West Lakes Trust Hosts Community Fair at Siblyback Lake

There is a fair coming to Siblyback Lake next weekend, and getting through the gate won’t cost you a thing. The only catch is the car park.

South West Lakes Trust is hosting a Community Fair at Siblyback Lake, near Liskeard, on Sunday 14th June 2026. The recreation and environment charity is running the event from 10am to 3pm, set against the backdrop of Bodmin Moor.

Entry and car parking are both free. But space is limited, so pre-booking a car ticket is essential.

What’s on

There will be craft and trade stalls to browse, with local food and drink served up by Olive & Co. cafe. Families can follow the nature trail, have a go at pond dipping and explore the countryside and wildlife around the lake. There is a play area to keep the kids busy.

Confirmed exhibitors include Canicross UK, who will be running have-a-go sessions and a fun dog show. There will be talks on Dark Sky Landscapes, and Wheal Martyn Clay Works will be on hand with clay sculpting. Cornwall Search and Rescue and Cornwall Birds are also attending, along with musical performers and a host of other local businesses and stall holders.

Out on the water

For anyone who fancies getting onto the lake itself, paddleboards, kayaks and canoes will be available to hire. There are also fly fishing taster sessions for those keen to try their hand.

Head of Fisheries Leon Fisher said: “Siblyback Lake offers an idyllic location to get outdoors and get active, whether that be walking, running, cycling, fishing or watersports. It’s so peaceful, but there is always plenty to get involved in.

“We’re looking forward to showing visitors everything that Siblyback Lake has to offer and to make it a truly memorable day out we’ve invited lots of local sellers and other organisations to join us to get the whole community involved.”
