England’s Junior Surf Final Returns to Fistral This Saturday

Back in April, the English National Surfing Championships ran out of road. A low-pressure system pushed huge swell down the South West coast and organisers cut the weekend short. The job was left half done. The rest of it gets settled at Fistral Beach this Saturday.

This is the second half of the 2026 Caravan and Motorhome Club English National Surfing Championships, covering the U18 boys and girls and the U16 boys and girls divisions. Organisers are billing it as a day of performance surfing from some of the country’s best young athletes.

The forecast is doing them a favour. Saturday is currently looking clean with little to no wind, and a 4ft swell is due in. Surfing England are expecting “big performances, heavy waves” and a strong display of talent, helped along by what they describe as a gifted window of swell, sunshine and calm conditions.

An early start is anticipated. Organisers are asking anyone planning to come down to keep an eye on their social media for timings on the day.

Coming to watch

Spectators are welcome at Fistral, and the organisers are keen to get people on the beach to feel the buzz of it. Era Adventures will be providing lifeguard cover throughout. If anyone needs first aid or assistance, the advice is to notify a lifeguard or contest official straight away.

Where to stay

Headline sponsor the Caravan and Motorhome Club has flagged five coastal sites within reach of the action for travelling surfers and visitors who want to wake up minutes from the surf. The sites offer hot showers, spacious pitches and wash-down areas for sandy kit. They are:

The Caravan and Motorhome Club crew will be on site with information about their holiday sites, and have teamed up with Team England Junior sponsor Radical Wax to hand out limited edition wax and spa cream to athletes and spectators. dryrobe and Kukuna are supplying products as prizes for the podium finishers.

Surfing England is a not-for-profit, and membership runs at £20 a year for juniors, £28 for adults and £75 for a family. Members get worldwide personal accident cover, a digital membership card and discounts with partner brands, with every penny going back into grassroots clubs, coaches and the Team England athletes.
