Looe Coastguard Called to Coastpath Rescue Above Talland
A morning walk on one of Cornwall’s prettiest stretches of coastpath ended with a stretcher and an eight-strong rescue team on Sunday.

What happened at Rotterdam Beach
Looe Coastguard were called out at 11:39 on 14 June to a report of a casualty who had fallen on the coastpath above Rotterdam Beach at Talland. She had a suspected ankle fracture.
Eight members of the Looe team responded. They provided casualty care at the scene and stabilised the injured limb before working out how to get her off the path.
Stretchered to the cafe
The casualty was extracted by stretcher to Smugglers Rest Cafe, where she waited for an ambulance.
The team thanked the cafe for stepping in, with staff providing parking, shade, fluids and a safe space to care for the casualty while the coastguard worked.
