Cornwall told to make the most of the heat before the weekend turns
If you have been planning a beach day, the next 48 hours are the ones to circle. Cornwall is in for two more hot days before a noticeable change arrives, and the forecast for the rest of the weekend looks very different from how the week is ending.

A hot but slightly cooler Friday
Friday starts cloudy across Cornwall and parts of Devon, with brighter, sunnier conditions further east. That cloud lifts and breaks through the afternoon to leave another hot day, warmest in the east. Temperatures are easing back a little compared with recent days, with a maximum of 30°C.
Overnight stays mostly clear and dry, though some cloud drifts back into Cornwall. It will feel cooler for some but muggy in places, with a minimum of 14°C.
Saturday holds onto the warmth
Cloud over Cornwall lifts through Saturday morning to give another bright and hot day. Cornwall will be cooler than counties further east, where the heat builds again. The maximum on Saturday is around 28°C.
The change arrives on Sunday
Sunday is when the spell breaks. Rain moves in and clears from west to east, dragging in much fresher and cooler air behind it. Anyone hoping for a repeat of Friday and Saturday will want to adjust their plans.
Monday and Tuesday then settle down again, staying mostly dry with sunny spells. Temperatures sit a little above average, so the cooler feel will not last long.
