easyJet’s Gatwick route takes off
easyJet’s new summer service between Newquay and London Gatwick took to the skies on Tuesday 23 June. It will run twice a week, on Tuesdays and Saturdays, throughout the season.
Fares start from £43.99 one way. The route adds a second direct option for passengers travelling between Cornwall and the capital during the peak summer months.
First international flight from Newquay confirmed
The bigger milestone is what comes in winter. easyJet has confirmed a new route from Newquay to Geneva, Switzerland, the first international service ever flown from the airport.
The seasonal service will operate once a week on Saturdays, running from 16 January 2027 until 27 February 2027. The dates cover February half term, putting Cornish travellers within reach of some of Europe’s best ski resorts. Fares start from £37.99 one way.
Nigel Scott, Commercial Director at Cornwall Airport Newquay, said the international route was a real milestone for the airport.
“To be confirming easyJet’s first-ever international route from Newquay in the same breath is a real milestone for the airport. Demand for direct ski access from the region is high, and the new Geneva service provides an affordable and convenient way for travellers to land on the doorstep of some of Europe’s best resorts.”
On the Gatwick launch, Nigel added that it strengthened London connectivity during the busy summer season “while making it even easier for visitors to experience everything Cornwall has to offer.”
Building on the Manchester route
Both routes follow what the airport describes as the strong performance of easyJet’s established Manchester service, which it says points to continued demand for low-fare travel to and from Cornwall.
Kevin Doyle, easyJet UK Country Manager, said the airline was delighted to have launched the Gatwick route and to be putting its first regional international service on sale.
“Together they offer customers greater regional connectivity and access to Europe and beyond through our leading short-haul network, while continuing to support Cornwall’s important visitor economy.”
