Cornwall’s hot spell has a turning point this weekend

If you have spent the week in shorts and sun cream, make the most of Saturday. The warmth that has settled over Cornwall is about to ease off, and the change starts before the weekend is out.

Saturday stays very warm

Today is largely dry across the South West with very warm sunny spells. A little cloud will bubble up through the afternoon, and a few showers are possible later on. In the sunshine it will feel very warm, with temperatures reaching a high of 27°C.

A mild night with rain by dawn

The evening stays dry and warm with late sunshine. Skies cloud over through the night though, and some rain is expected in the early hours. The overnight low sits around 15°C, so it stays mild.

Sunday turns cooler

Sunday starts cloudy with a few showery bursts of rain in the morning. It dries up as the day goes on, with more sunshine breaking through. The top temperature drops to 23°C, the first hint of the fresher feel on the way.

The week ahead feels fresher

Into the new week the air turns fresher. Monday to Wednesday looks largely dry with sunny spells, though a few showers are possible at times, with Tuesday the most likely day to catch one. Winds stay light and it should feel pleasant whenever the sun is out.
