Cornwall’s Week Looks Cooler, Fresher and Mostly Dry

The week ahead has a different feel to it. Cooler air, fresher mornings, and for the most part, dry skies right through to the weekend.

After a cloudy start, the forecast for Cornwall settles into something pleasant, with sunshine returning and only a few showers to watch for early on.

Monday: cloudy start, sunnier afternoon

Monday begins on the grey side, with an isolated shower possible over the hills. The cloud breaks up as the day goes on, letting sunny spells come through in the afternoon.

Winds stay light and westerly throughout, so it should feel pleasant once the sun is out. Highs reach around 20°C.

Overnight the winds stay light and the day ends with some sunshine. Cloud then builds in from the west, bringing a little light rain to western hills. It stays slightly milder than recent nights, with lows of about 12°C.

Tuesday: showers move in

Tuesday opens cloudy again, with a little light rain in the west to start. The cloud then tends to break up, and that is when showers develop. Some of these turn heavy at times, with the east of the region most likely to catch the worst of it.

Despite the showers, temperatures hold up at around 20°C.

The rest of the week

From Wednesday onward the picture turns more settled. Expect a mostly dry spell with bright or sunny intervals.

There is a catch. A spell of rain looks likely to push in around Thursday before things tidy up again. Temperatures sit near average for the time of year and slowly edge upward as the week closes out.

So a fresher start, a damp middle, and a warming trend to keep an eye on.
