The free Newquay card that unlocks discounts across town

There is a card sitting behind the desk at Newquay Library right now that could take money off your next coffee, meal or shop in town. Plenty of people walk past it without knowing it is there.

What the Love Newquay Loyalty Card actually does

Newquay BID is relaunching the Love Newquay Loyalty Card, a scheme that lets shoppers pick up savings at participating businesses across the town. Customers scan the QR code on the back of the card and see every business taking part, along with whatever offer each one is running.

The offers vary. They can be discounts, food and drink deals or special promotions, and businesses choose their own.

Why businesses are being asked to sign up

For traders, the draw is footfall during the quieter stretches of the year. Each business sets its own offer and can switch it on or off whenever it likes, so a café could run a winter promotion and pause it over a busy summer.

Sign up and your offer gets listed on the Love Newquay website, where customers go looking before they spend. The current offers are listed here, and there are already savings on the table across Newquay.

Where and when you can get involved

The relaunch event is at The Central Inn on 14 July, running from 11am to 2pm. Newquay BID is inviting three groups along:

• Businesses wanting to sign up or grab a stack of cards to hand out to customers
• Residents who want to pick up their own card
• Regular visitors keen to save money while backing local businesses

Can’t make the event? Businesses can email Newquay BID and get sent everything they need to join. Cards are also available from Newquay Library and the Visit Newquay desk for anyone who wants one before 14 July.

Whether the relaunch pulls in new businesses will come down to how many turn up on the day.
