The Long Rock parking problem that led to five seizures

Five untaxed vehicles have been removed from the Long Rock area after residents raised concerns about the way cars were being left on the highway.

Concerns from residents

The Neighbourhood team in Penzance said it had been working with partner agencies after local people reported vehicles left on the road at Long Rock. Police said the way the vehicles were parked was a safety concern for other road users.

Joint enforcement action

The checks were carried out through a coordinated operation involving AADSL, the DVLA and Fourwinds Garage. Officers looked at vehicles that had been flagged as causing concern. Five were found to have no valid vehicle tax, which made them eligible for seizure, and all five have now been taken away.

Police thanked the residents who reported the vehicles and the partner agencies for their support. They described it as an example of partnership working to resolve community concerns and improve the local environment for residents and visitors.

Anyone with concerns about vehicles abandoned on public roads is being asked to continue reporting them through the appropriate channels.
