The Liskeard Show dog show has a class called ‘most appealing eyes’
You do not need a pedigree or a cabinet full of rosettes to enter. You just need a dog and a pound coin.
The Liskeard Show is running a dog show this Saturday, and it is open to any four-legged friend that fancies a go. There are 17 classes in total, and entry is £1 per class.

What you can enter
The classes cover the serious and the silly. Waggiest Tail, Most Appealing Eyes, Best Rescue, Best Child Handler, Most Handsome Dog and Prettiest Bitch are all up for grabs. There is also one called “Dog the Judge Would Like to Take Home,” which is exactly what it sounds like.
Rosettes go to first through to fourth place in each class.
How to enter
There is no need to sign up in advance. Entries are taken at the Dog Show Ring from 12 noon on the day, and you pay your £1 per class there.
A couple of rules to keep in mind. No puppies under four months old may be shown. And dogs must not be left in hot cars.
The rest of the day
The dog show is one part of the wider Liskeard Show on Saturday 11 July. The main ring has a packed programme, including horse driving, motorbike displays, tug of war, a Duchy working dog display and terrier racing.
The organisers suggest getting there early to beat the crowds. Tickets for the Liskeard Show are available online.
