Tractors joined the sports cars at The Roseland Academy’s prom

Sports cars pulled up outside Alverton Manor. So did the tractors.

Year 11 students from The Roseland Academy marked the end of their secondary school journey on Friday 3 July, celebrating Prom 2026 at Alverton Manor in Truro. The sun was out, and so was the whole community, with families, friends and staff lining the entrance to welcome the students as they arrived.

Arrivals with a Cornish flavour

The students came in an impressive collection of vehicles. Classic cars, sports cars and luxury motors all made an appearance, alongside the signature Roseland tractors.

Headteacher Mr Clarke greeted every student personally, opening the door to each arriving vehicle so that every member of the Year 11 cohort got a memorable welcome.

Awards, music and one last dance

Inside, the celebrations continued with a series of light-hearted awards. Voted for by the students themselves, they recognised memorable moments, individual personalities and the friendships built over the past five years.

The evening finished with a live performance from the much-loved Tregony Teachers band, joined on stage by special guest appearances from talented Year 11 musicians. Students and staff danced the night away, making the most of one final celebration together.

Head of Year 11 Mrs Atkins said: “What a fantastic evening celebrating our wonderful Year 11 students. Prom is always such a special occasion, giving everyone the opportunity to come together one last time before they begin the next chapter of their lives. It was wonderful to see every student looking so confident, happy and proud, and the atmosphere throughout the evening was fantastic. We wish each and every one of them every success and happiness for the future.”

Headteacher Mr Clarke added: “Prom is always one of the highlights of the school year, and this year’s celebration was no exception. It was a privilege to welcome every one of our Year 11 students as they arrived and to see them enjoying such a well-deserved evening together. They have been a fantastic year group, and we are incredibly proud of everything they have achieved. We wish them every success as they move on to the next stage of their education and look forward to hearing about all they accomplish in the years ahead.”
