There was a tractor. Among the sleek sports cars and restored classic motors pulling up outside The Falmouth Hotel, one Year 11 student made their prom entrance on farm machinery, and the crowd loved it.

The school’s annual prom brought students, families and staff together at The Falmouth Hotel to mark the end of five years at Falmouth School.

An entrance worth turning up for

Students made a point of arriving in style, in a run of vehicles that ranged from sports cars and beautifully restored classics to motorbikes. And, yes, a tractor. Each arrival drew smiles and applause from the families and friends gathered outside to welcome them.

Dressed in suits and gowns, the Class of 2026 celebrated together before moving on to the next stage of their education and careers.

“A real legacy of success”

Learning Leader for Year 11 Mrs Miller said it had been a privilege to lead the group.

“It has been an absolute privilege to lead the Class of 2026. They are an outstanding year group who have left a real legacy of success. Prom was a wonderful evening to celebrate all that has been achieved over the last five years.”

Headteacher Mrs Guest said the year group had shown ambition and maturity across their time at the school.

“I am incredibly proud of the Class of 2026. They have shown ambition, determination and maturity throughout their time at Falmouth School, embracing every opportunity and supporting one another over the years. They leave us not only with excellent achievements but as kind and responsible young people who will make a positive difference wherever life takes them. Prom was the perfect opportunity to mark the end of an exceptional chapter for a truly remarkable year group.”

What comes next

For plenty of the students, the night marked a beginning as much as an ending. A number of them have chosen to stay together and continue their studies at Falmouth Sixth Form.
