There’s a Rodeo Bull Coming to Newquay’s Killacourt This July

Boots, a bouncy castle and a mechanical rodeo bull are heading to the heart of Newquay later this month.

Newquay Town Council is bringing its Country Hoedown to the Killacourt on Saturday 18th July, part of the popular Newquay Sessions series. The day runs from 12pm to 8pm and is free to attend, with the council promising something for all ages.

Live music all day

Music runs throughout the event. On the bill are Bow River, The Cornish Cowboy and Deeks Cowboys, playing across the afternoon and into the evening.

Line dancing and family fun

Anyone who fancies learning the steps can join line dancing tutorials led by Kickinitcowgirls NATD Donna James. Alongside the dancing there is a range of family-friendly entertainment, including a bouncy castle and a rodeo bull.

Dress the part

Visitors are encouraged to embrace the country theme. A fancy dress competition runs during the day, supported by Newquay BID and Radio Newquay, with prizes for the best country-inspired outfits in both adult and children’s categories. There are prizes for the best line dancers too.

Part of the Newquay Sessions

The Hoedown sits within the wider Newquay Sessions programme. It is a run of free music events built to bring the community together and put Newquay forward as a spot for live music and entertainment.
