Miracle Theatre’s summer workshops for young people in Falmouth

There is a spot in Falmouth this August where a young person who has never been near a stage can end up making a show with people they met an hour earlier. No audition. No experience. Just a bit of imagination and the willingness to have a go.

What is on this August

Miracle Theatre is running its Summer Youth Programme throughout August at The Poly in Falmouth, with sessions for young people aged 8 to 19. The workshops are led by professional theatre-makers and built around Miracle’s approach to storytelling, comedy and devising.

Expect inclusive games and theatre exercises in a welcoming, supportive environment where everyone can get stuck in. No previous theatre experience is needed. Enthusiasm and imagination are the only requirements.

Part of Small Miracles

The Summer Youth Programme sits within Small Miracles, Miracle Theatre’s growing youth initiative. It aims to nurture the next generation of theatre-makers by giving young people the chance to explore performance, storytelling, design, technical theatre and creative collaboration.

Sally Crooks, Co-Artistic Director at Miracle Theatre, said:

Our Summer Youth Programme is all about creating a fun, supportive space where every young person feels welcome to explore their creativity and enjoy making theatre together.”

How to book

The programme suits complete beginners as well as young people already interested in drama and performance, with sessions tailored to different age groups. Parents and carers are being encouraged to book early, as places are limited.
