The young gulls being cared for at Mousehole Wild Bird Hospital are getting through 10.7kg of fish a day. That is a lot of fish, and a lot of hungry beaks to fill.

Growing up is hungry work
The hospital’s gull patients arrive as small, fluffy chicks and grow into strong young birds. Feathers, strength and the readiness to fly all take fuel, and right now that appetite adds up to 10.7kg of fish every single day.
The birds are building towards one thing. Release back into the wild as free-flying seabirds.
How to help the Fish Fund
Mousehole Wild Bird Hospital has an ongoing Fish Fund appeal to help cover the cost of feeding its patients through this stage. Every contribution goes towards keeping the birds fed as they grow from chicks to wild gulls ready for release.
