Cornwall hits 30°C today before the heat starts to ease

The hot spell isn’t done with Cornwall quite yet. Today brings another dry, sunny day with temperatures climbing to 30°C inland, but the latest forecast points to gentler, more comfortable conditions arriving just in time for the weekend.

Today and tonight

Any cloud lingering this morning clears to leave a dry and sunny day, though the sunshine turns hazy at times through the afternoon. It stays hot inland, while some coasts feel a touch cooler. The top temperature reaches 30°C.

Overnight, most places keep clear spells broken up by patches of cloud. The winds drop away and it stays mild, but the night should feel more comfortable than the muggy ones Cornwall has had recently. Temperatures fall no lower than 16°C.

Saturday brings a cooler weekend

The weekend opens on a fine note, with long spells of sunshine to start Saturday. Cloud builds a little more through the afternoon and an isolated shower can’t be ruled out, though many places stay dry throughout. It feels less hot than in recent days, with a high of 26°C.

The outlook to Tuesday

Dry weather holds into the second half of the weekend and beyond, with sunny spells by day and clear skies overnight. Temperatures edge back a little closer to average for the time of year, but it still feels warm.
